I think the most privieleged person in the Arab world is….ME! Yes, I am the strongest one here.
Don’t you believe me? Ok then, here are my reasons:
- When I extend my hand to a man for a greeting, he is afraid of shaking it. He hides his hand and lowers his head.
- My hair also seems to threaten the stability of Arab men. They can’t stand seeing it uncovered.
I am, a woman, the strongest one in the Arabic world!
(To be fair, this is an exaggerated view, as things are changing here. Although it is still there in many families and places. But in general, it is now much diluted.)
